During his working visit to Tokyo, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, chairman of the upper house of Turkmenistan parliament met Wednesday, 28 September, with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.
Prime Minister Kishida thanked Berdimuhamedov for the memorial dinner held in Turkmenistan to commemorate former Prime Minister Abe, and expressed his gratitude for attending the funeral of the late Shinzo Abe, Japanese foreign ministry said in a press release.
In turn, Berdimuhamedov said that the passing of former Prime Minister Abe was a great tragedy for the people of Turkmenistan, and expressed his heartfelt condolences.
In addition, Prime Minister Kishida welcomed the realization of large-scale project on construction of GTG plant in Turkmenistan with participation of Japanese companies.
The sides also mentioned the further engagement of Japanese business community in development projects in Turkmenistan.
They welcomed the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship group of the two countries, and agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. ///nCa, 28 September 2022 (photo credit – AP)
