The legislative base of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation will be enriched by a number of documents that are being prepared for signing. This was announced during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Tatyana Semenova with the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Murat Mammadov.
During the meeting, the sides noted the high level of development of bilateral relations in the field of health protection.
Such areas as continuing medical education, medical tourism and digital transformation of healthcare are of particular interest.
Semenova noted that Turkmen medical specialists are regularly trained in Russia on additional professional education programs with an emphasis on the use of modern medical equipment.
Murat Mammadov, for his part, highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries during the pandemic and noted that Turkmenistan was one of the first states to receive Russian anti-Covid vaccine Sputnik V, which showed high efficiency and safety.
The meeting participants agreed to continue and intensify contacts at all levels in the healthcare sector in 2023.
Currently, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Turkmenistan have an agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical education and science of 2017, on the basis of which professional ties between the leading medical, educational and scientific organizations of the two countries are actively developed.
A number of the largest medical research centers in Russia have signed cooperation agreements with partners in Turkmenistan.
During 2022, experts from Turkmenistan have several times visited leading Russian centers working in the field of therapy and prevention, ophthalmology, cardiac surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, balneology and rehabilitation. ///nCa, 16 December 2022
