The railways of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran have decided to establish reduced single container-kilometer rates along the eastern route of the North–South International Transport Corridor (INSTC) for 2023, Russian Railways reports.
Starting from 1 January 2023, a 20% discount will be applied on Russian railways for export and import transportation of loaded containers, traveling through Russian-Kazakh border and the Kazakh-Turkmen border crossing Bolashak – Serkhetyak.
The railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran will introduce the following special tariff rates:
- 0.15 $/TEU-km – with a gross container weight of up to 24 tons
- 0.18 $/TEU-km – with a gross container weight of over 24 tons
- 0.24 $/FEU-km
