The government of Kyrgyzstan has acquired an NVIDIA supercomputer with a capacity of 1 petaflop, which allows performing 1 quadrillion operations per second.
As stated recently in the Presidential Administration, Ulut Soft сorporation is currently working on a project to introduce artificial intelligence processing information in the Kyrgyz language.
The AI will have to recognize speech in Kyrgyz, transcribe it, analyze and compose texts. These programs will be used in the scientific and educational fields, as well as in mass communications and stenography.
“We must make sure that different technological assistants also speak Kyrgyz. This is important for all of us, but especially for people with disabilities. The supercomputer should work 24 hours a day in the interests of domestic science and economy. The equipment can be used by state institutions, educational institutions and interested parties,” Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baysalov said.
The supercomputers are usually called machines with huge computing power. So, for the most powerful PC it will take several days to complete difficult calculations, whereas a supercomputer copes with a task in a matter of hours.
Such machines have a wide range of applications; for example, they can be used to forecast weather and climatic conditions, produce novel medicines, simulate reactions in nuclear physics, create artificial neural networks and artificial intelligence, and so on. ///nCa, 19 January 2023
