Representatives of the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli participated in the 15th Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities, which was held on 2 March 2023 in Moscow.
According to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, the forum was attended by representatives of 127 universities from 18 countries of the world. The President of the Association is the Rector of Moscow State University, Academician V.A.Sadovnichy. The Congress’ agenda covered topics like advancing cooperation within the Association’s framework, activities aimed at strengthening member relationships, improving the quality of education and research, and enhancing the operational activities of higher education institutions using information technology.
At the forum, an agreement was reached to continue consolidating cooperation in training of specialists based on the integration of education, science and production, the use of modern educational technologies, the continuity of national traditions in the field of personnel training and the use of the best practices in this field. It is planned to develop joint research programs of Eurasian universities and create research teams.
As for cooperation with the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, the Rector of Moscow State University emphasized the importance of the Cooperation Agreement between the two universities, which was signed during the official visit of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin to Turkmenistan in January this year.
Thus, the parties discussed the development of a Roadmap for the development of partnership ties for the next years, participation in advanced training of teachers and retraining programs hosted by Moscow State University.
The issues of participation of the Eurasian Association of Universities in the upcoming events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen national poet and thinker Makhtumkuli were considered.
Special attention was paid to the prospects of holding joint lectures, seminars, conferences, and the development of cooperation between the UNESCO departments of TSU and MSU.
TSU named after Makhtumkuli became a member of the Association on 19 May 1992. The Eurasian Association of Universities (EAU) includes national universities of all CIS countries, leading regional universities and higher education institutions of the countries of the Eurasian space. ///nCa, 14 March 2023
