President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had on Sunday, 7 May, a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership is developing in a wide range of areas. Meetings and contacts at the highest level are held on a regular basis.
The head of Turkmenistan stressed that inter-parliamentary relations were identified among the key vectors of partnership, noting in this regard the importance of the visits of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Moscow in November last year and Chairman of the State Duma of Russia to Ashgabat in January this year.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Great Patriotic War and the defeat of fascism hold a particular place in the general historical memory. It was noted that in Turkmenistan, as in Russia, the memory of those who defended the country on the battlefields in those harsh years and selflessly worked in the rear, bringing victory closer is sacredly honored.
The heads of state congratulated each other on the upcoming Victory Day, wishing well-being and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.
Putin also invited the President of Turkmenistan to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the celebration of the 78th anniversary of the Victory, to be held in Moscow.
