On 23 May 2023 the delegation of Turkmenistan led by Dr. Atageldi Germanov, Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has participated in the 76th Session of the World Health Assembly.
During the high-level segment of the Session, the head of the Turkmen delegation delivered a statement in which he highlighted Turkmenistan’s efforts to ensure the health of population and share the vision for a healthier future for all nations.
It was also mentioned that Turkmenistan is committed to ensuring equal access to quality healthcare for all citizens. This is being done by developing the medical infrastructure, expanding the network of medical facilities and training qualified medical personnel.
Moreover the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has extended invitation all member states of the WHO to participate in the High-Level Conference on Non-Communicable Diseases that will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in April 2024.
As the world faces ongoing health and humanitarian emergencies, the Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly is focused on driving forward health for all.
This year’s session of the World Health Assembly, which is decision-making body of the WHO, will determine the immediate and longer-term future of WHO, starting with the program budget for the next two years, key decisions about the sustainable financing of the Organization and changes put in place to improve WHO’s processes and accountability. Delegates will also deliberate about the critical role that WHO has in the Global Health Emergency Architecture. ///nCa, 24 May 2023
