The Second Summit “European Union – Central Asia” will be held in Cholpon-Ata city on 2 June 2023 under the chairmanship of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, MFA Kyrgyzstan said in a press release with reference to the head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Muratbek Azimbakiev.
The Summit will be attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nurmukhammet Amannepesov and President of the European Council Charles Michel.
The current state and prospects of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two regions will be discussed, and views will be exchanged on topical issues on the international agenda and interaction between the Central Asian countries and the European Union.
In addition, President Sadyr Zhaparov will hold bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations.
The next day, on 3 June, the official visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel to the Kyrgyz Republic will take place.
“Bilateral talks with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov are planned during the visit. The sides will discuss issues of the Kyrgyz-European partnership in narrow and expanded formats,” Muratbek Azymbakiev said. ///nCa, 30 May 2023
