From 13 to 15 June, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a Regional workshop in Astana, Kazakhstan, for the heads and key staff of the Customs agencies of the Central Asian countries.
On behalf of Turkmenistan, the meeting was attended by the head of the Training Center at the State Customs Service, employees of the personnel departments of the Central Office and the Dashoguz Customs.
This event was aimed at developing methodological recommendations for creating a structure of customs competencies necessary for a systematic approach to training and advanced training of customs officers.
During the seminar, the participants presented and analyzed the existing requirements for the system of training and advanced training of customs officers of Central Asian countries. Experts from the Lithuanian State Customs Service and Riga Technical University also introduced them to the EU experience.
Thus, the delegates from Turkmenistan noted in their presentation that the Training Center at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, introducing new approaches to personnel training, focuses on the psychological well-being and moral and psychological stability of employees. This program includes measures such as interviews with family members, improving the living conditions of employees, cultural events.
