The presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 9 July 2023. According to the election commission of Uzbekistan, 69.85% of voters had cast their votes by 17:00.
The Central Election Commission said that 13.459 million out of 19.27 million registered voters cast their votes.
The early election was called after the approval of the constitutional referendum in April this year where term limits were reset to seven years.
There are four candidates in the race:
- Abdushukur Xamzayev– Ecological Party – Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan (since 2022), Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party (since 2023)
- Ulugbek Inoyatov– O‘XDP – Minister of National Education, Chairman of O‘XDP (since 2019)
- Robaxon Maxmudova– Adolat – First Deputy Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan (since 2020)
