Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin praised Turkmenistan and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the undoubted merits in initiating a number of creative international processes aimed at strengthening political and economic stability in the Central Asian region.
Galuzin made the remarks at a reception hosted by the Turkmen Embassy in Moscow on the occasion of Turkmenistan’s 32nd independence anniversary.
He also stressed the successful development of bilateral ties in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
In his speech, Turkmen Ambassador to Russia Batyr Niyazliev said that the friendly and good-neighborly relations between the Turkmen and Russian peoples have been developing logically in recent history.
He noted that the past years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia have been marked by a high level of interstate dialogue and characterized by mutual support and trust in the international arena.
The Ambassador also said that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia are connected by centuries-old historical ties, traditions of equal and good-neighborly relations, and sincere sympathy for each other at the people’s level.
The reception was attended by deputies of the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, foreign diplomats accredited in Moscow, representatives of business circles of the two countries, heads of public organizations, scientists and cultural figures, journalists, and representatives of Turkmen minority in the regions of the Russian Federation.
