Ashgabat, 25 October 2023 – UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan conducted a “Seminar on Educational Robotics for School Teachers.” This engaging and informative event took place from 23 to 25 October 2023 and equipped 27 specialists and teachers from the national education system with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate educational robotics into their teaching practices.
The seminar represented an important initiative in advancing the quality of education in Turkmenistan by embracing modern, interactive, and learner-centered methods. Educational robotics, with its focus on practical, hands-on learning will contribute to transforming the educational landscape in the country in line with the latest scientific and technological trends.
Educators attending this seminar benefited from in-depth training, guidance, and resources to effectively incorporate robotics into their classroom practices. The event featured professional trainers, renowned for their expertise in educational robotics and interactive teaching methodologies. During the training the participants learned the foundations of educational robotics, basics of Scratch programming language, the components of Arduino educational robotics kit and their respective functions and applied their programming skills using the Arduino kits. Participants expressed great interest in continuation of learning activities aimed at the improvement of teaching STEM subjects in Turkmenistan, including the empowerment of girls in STEM fields.
This seminar is part of a broader effort to strengthen the education standards in Turkmenistan and prepare students for the challenges of the future.
