President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubayev, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 16th Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral relations. They noted with satisfaction that relations between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan have become closer in recent years. Both countries actively cooperate in various fields, including politics, economy, culture and humanitarian activities, actively cooperate on the platform of international organizations, primarily the UN and the CIS.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of his recent visit to Kyrgyzstan to attend the CIS Summit, during which he met with President Sadyr Zhaparov. During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues, including the state of Turkmen-Kyrgyz relations and prospects for their development.
The parties agreed to further increase trade and economic cooperation. They also discussed issues of expanding contacts in the transport and transit sphere.
The sides stressed the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which contributes to the rapprochement of the peoples of the two countries.
