Turkmenbashi International Seaport is being presented at the TransLogistics Uzbekistan 2023 exhibition, which is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 1 to 3 November 2023.
More than 60 companies from 15 countries are participating in the event, and the Turkmenbashi International Seaport has its own stand. Representatives of the port are providing visitors with detailed information about the potential of the Turkmen harbor.
The new seaport has a total cargo handling capacity of 17 million tons per year, excluding petroleum products. It has five terminals:
- Ferry and passenger terminal with a capacity of 300,000 passengers and 75,000 vehicles per year
- Container terminal with a capacity of 400,000 TEU containers per year
- Bulk cargo terminal with a capacity of 3 million tons of bulk cargo per year
- General cargo terminal with a capacity of 4 million tons of general cargo per year
- Polypropylene terminal
Today, the Turkmenbashi International Seaport is one of the most important centers of the transport sector in Turkmenistan and offers promising opportunities for European countries and the markets of the Near and Middle East.
One of the important issues is connecting Turkmenistan’s transport system to the global transport system and developing multimodal transportation in the East-West and North-South directions. The Turkmenbashi International Seaport, located at the crossroads of transport routes connecting the main regions, is becoming a logistics center between Central Asia and Europe.
During the international exhibition, negotiations were held with representatives of well-known transport and logistics companies from all over the world. These included MSC Tashkent LLC, FESCO, MEDLOG GEORGIA LLC, Albayrak, Central Asia Trans, Azlogista, TRANSASIA Logistics, and PRIME Shipping & Transportation, PSA Africa PTE LTD, RAM Spreaders.
The Turkmen delegation had also negotiations with the World Bank representative office in Uzbekistan to attract investments in shipbuilding.
The 1st SCO International Transport Forum, the 12th meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Economic Cooperation Organization, and the International Aviation Forum “Aviation and Logistics 2023” are also taking place in Tashkent as part of the exhibition. ///nCa, 3 November 2023
