The French Institute in Turkmenistan is calling all Francophones to participate in their annual competition, this year themed “Olympic and Paralympic Games of Paris 2024.”
Categories of competitions in 2024:
Singing: Open to participants aged 16 and over. Submit a video clip showcasing your singing talent by 15 March, following the theme of the core values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Judging will be based on French language skills (pronunciation & articulation), singing ability, video originality, and theme adherence. Winners will perform live at the final event.
Essay Writing: Open to participants aged 16 and over. Register by 15 March and write essay on-site at the French Institute on 16 March. The essay will be evaluated based on French writing proficiency, adherence to instructions provided on the day, and originality. Winners will present their essays during the award ceremony.
Oral Spelling: Open only to university students in Turkmenistan currently studying French: Magtymguly Turkmen State University, National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azad, Institute of International Relations. The first stage will be held within individual universities, with the top 16 finalists competing in a one-on-one elimination round.
Important Dates
26 February to 15 March: Essay competition registration.
15 March: Deadline for singing competition video submissions.
16 March: Essay competition writing day.
6 April (tentative): Competition finals and award ceremony.
