“Cultural Diplomacy is the name of the game in modern international relations. And calligraphic artwork designed by artists of one country of poetry composed by luminary of another region is a step towards cultural globalization” this was said by speakers at the opening ceremony of exhibition titled “Poetic Strokes Exhibition: Bridging Cultures Through Persian Calligraphy”, at the ECO Art Gallery in Tehran.
Chief Guet for the occasion, H.E. Dr. Danvivathana, Secretary General of Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), who came all the way from Kuwait to attend the ceremony. In his speech, he emphasized on the role of art in fostering dialogue among nations.
H.E. Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), highlighted the significance of calligraphy in bridging cultures. He emphasized that the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), represents ten great countries in the heart of Asia representing great civilizations. Events such as this promote people to people contacts, he added.
The poet Balram Shukla whose works were exhibited, Dr. Jafari Malak, from ACD, and several dignitaries addressed the occasion and thanked the ECI for its proactive role in promoting culture. A large number of diplomats, art lovers and citizens attended the ceremony. /// ECO Cultural Institute
