The volume of non-oil exports to Turkmenistan through the Lotfabad border crossing (from the Turkmen side – Artyk), Khorasan-Razavi Province, increased by 103% in the first quarter of this year (from 21 March to 21 June according to the Iranian calendar) compared to the same period last year.
This is reported by the IRNA news agency with reference to the head of the Lotfabad customs, Gurban Karimi.
According to Karimi, goods worth US $ 77.53 million were exported to Turkmenistan this spring or US $ 38.17 million up year-on-year basis.
In physical terms, in the first quarter of this year, 107,500 tons of goods were exported to Turkmenistan (64% growth), for which over four thousand customs declarations were issued.
“Building stones, building materials such as cement, cargo and food such as pasta include the most items and goods exported by Iran to Turkmenistan”, Karimi added.
