Shipbuilding projects have become the subject of negotiations between the Agency of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan “Turkmendenizderyayollary” with representatives of the Korean Association of Marine Equipment (KOMEA) and the company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology. Co., Ltd. (KSIT).
According to the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed the planning and implementation of projects in the field of shipbuilding aimed at the development of the national merchant fleet of Turkmenistan. They paid special attention to the construction of dry cargo ships and ferries.
In particular, they talked about the construction project of two bulk carriers at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant.
Representatives of KSIT got acquainted with the capabilities and technical equipment of the Turkmen shipyard, which is capable of building up to 4-6 high-quality vessels per year.
Representatives of KOMEA and KSIT expressed confidence in the great prospects of cooperation and noted the professionalism of local specialists.
The Korea Marine Equipment Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea unites 286 heavy industry enterprises. The Association mainly provides services such as design in shipbuilding, supply of equipment and materials, and introduction of advanced scientific technologies.
Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology. Co., Ltd., based in Busan, specializes in the design, construction and repair of ships of various types and sizes. It has two shipyards in Busan and Changwon.
Earlier it was reported that the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship repair Plant is negotiating with leading S.Korean companies in order to implement shipbuilding projects.
