On 25-26 October 2023, the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties on Combating Doping in Sport is being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
The event is attended by a delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Maksat Chariev, which also includes the chief specialist of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan M.Yaylymova, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France reports.
The agenda of the conference includes hearing preliminary reports, consideration of strategic changes in the context of the fight against doping, as well as recommendations on strengthening the responsibility of States parties in implementing the provisions of the Convention. In addition, the focus will be on discussing the projects of the foundation, whose goal is to eradicate doping in 2024-2025.
As known, Turkmenistan ratified the UNESCO Convention against Doping in 2011. In addition, Turkmenistan has joined the Nairobi Treaty on the Protection of the Olympic Symbol and has established a National Anti-Doping Agency.
