On 15 February 2023, representatives from the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan and the UNESCO Global Youth Community convened for an online meeting.
Participants included Ms. Suria Saad-Zoi, Head of the Youth Department at UNESCO’s Social and Humanitarian Sciences Sector, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Maksat Chariev, representatives of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, program specialists of the UNESCO Youth Department Lamin Abdul Rahman and Maria Kypriotou, as well as program specialist of the UNESCO office in Almaty Maksat Baibekov, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France.
The meeting focused on developing a Work Plan for 2024-2025 to solidify cooperation between the two organizations. Discussions explored opportunities for the Magtymguly Youth Organization to actively participate in various UNESCO initiatives and further strengthen international relations.
A key highlight was the inclusion of the Magtymguly Youth Organization in the UNESCO Global Youth Community in 2023, marking a significant step towards global collaboration. Ambassador Chariev emphasized the valuable contributions of young people across various fields and their impressive achievements in diverse spheres of public life.
Furthermore, Ambassador Chariev presented the book “Youth is the Support of the Motherland” authored by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This book underscores the success of Turkmenistan’s youth policy and the remarkable accomplishments of the younger generation in national development. ///nCa, 19 February 2024
