A Turkmen delegation from the Ministry of Culture undertook a visit to Kazakhstan from 15 to 16 February 2024. Meetings with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information, Astana governorate and the Turkmen Embassy fostered closer cultural cooperation.
During the meeting with Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Yerbol Alikulov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Batyr Rejepov highlighted the strong relations between the two nations, particularly regarding the upcoming Days of Culture in Kazakhstan’s capital during 2024. The Turkmen side detailed their preparations for the event.
Both sides recognized the significance of this cultural exchange in strengthening ties and enhancing understanding between the two peoples. Kazakhstan expressed its unwavering support and collaboration in organizing the Days of Culture.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan proposed reciprocal Days of Culture in Turkmenistan this autumn. Discussions also progressed on establishing monuments to great poets Magtymguly Fragi in Astana and Abai Kunanbayuly – in Ashgabat. The parties reviewed the ongoing construction of the unique Friendship Park within the Magtymguly Fragi cultural complex in Ashgabat.
Emphasizing the importance of fostering friendship, the Ambassador announced an international conference of Culture Ministers in Turkmenistan this year, themed “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” in honor of the poet’s 300th anniversary. Kazakhstan was invited to participate actively.
To solidify the partnership, the Turkmen side presented the Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister for culture with the book “Arkadag – the city of the Future”, authored by the National Leader of Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. ///nCa, 19 February 2024
