On 21-22 January 2025, the delegation of the Customs Administration of Iran headed by Ibrahim Naghdi, Deputy of the Department of Legal Affairs and Customs Monitoring, paid a working visit to Ashgabat.
The visit began with a working meeting of the parties, during which the results of cooperation between the customs authorities of the two countries in 2024 were discussed.
Issues of cooperation at the Khovdan-Bajgiran, Artyk-Lotfabad and Sarakhs-Sarakhs checkpoints were discussed. In addition, the parties explored the possibilities of increasing cargo flows across customs borders, while attention was paid to the organization of effective customs control and the prevention of possible offenses regarding goods, both exported and transported in transit.
It was decided to develop cooperation in the field of authorized economic operations, exchange information on identified offenses, and conduct joint activities to raise awareness on customs regulations of both countries.
After the meeting, the Iranian delegation visited the Control and Analytical Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Training Center and the International Customs Terminal.
The visit was organized within the framework of the joint action plan of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran for 2025-2026. ///nCa, 24 January 2025
