Last week, the project office of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CARECECO) in Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of understanding with the Taze Zaman NGO, which operates in the Lebap province, the eastern region of Turkmenistan.
The memorandum is aimed at strengthening the long-term partnership between CARECECO and Taze Zaman in order to improve the environmental situation in Central Asia.
The main areas of cooperation include increasing the level of environmental education, improving knowledge exchange on adaptation, mitigation, climate finance and climate policy. This will be achieved through joint seminars, environmental actions, the development and dissemination of information materials, the active use of social networks, as well as interaction in the preparation and implementation of grants and projects, according to a press release from CARECECO.
